Security forces recovered arms and ammunition from an area along Ngairangbam Tanoukhul Road towards Longa Koireng under Patsoi-PS, Imphal West district. The recovered arms include one double barrel gun, one country made pistol along with a magazine, 181 ammunition rounds of different calibers, three magazines, two .36 hand-grenade, one detonator and Baofeng wireless handset along with charger.
On the other hand, security forces arrested an extortionist, a s/s Lieutenant of PLA, identified as Ningthoujam Ibungocha @ Sathouba Meitei (38) of Nongdam Makha Leikai, Pukhri Achouba Mapal, Imphal East district from Yaingangpokpi Bazar under Yaingangpokpi-PS, Imphal East district. From his possession, a mobile phone along with SIM Card was seized.
Security forces also arrested a s/s Private of RPF/PLA, one Athokpam Manaoton Meitei @Tamanao @ Malem @ Amujao (42), of Chana Mayai Leikai under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East district from Sawombung, Imphal East district. Meanwhile, four bunkers constructed at Mongkot Chepu under Litan-PS, Ukhrul district were dismantled by security forces. 24 rounds of EFC (Empty Fired Cartridges) were also recovered from the site.
