Everything was ready for the 6th Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) to begin at this gorgeous ski resort in Jammu and Kashmir covered in snow. 400 athletes from 30 states and union territories will compete in the four-day tournament, which will be officially opened by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. “400 players from 30 states and union territories have registered for the games,” said Nuzhat Gul, secretary of the J&K Sports Council. “With any luck, the event will be a huge success because there is a considerable amount of snow in Gulmarg this time.” February 23–26 is the date of the four-day event. From January 20 to 26, Leh town in Ladakh hosted the first leg of KIWG. Gulmarg is hosting the second iteration of the snow event games. J&K and Ladakh have hosted each of the six KIWG events.
