President of the United Committee, Manipur (UCM) YK Dhiren was elected as new Convener of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) for the term 2026-27.
There was a voting session yesterday at the COCOMI office at Lamphelpat,Imphal. More than 183 representatives from 58 different CSOs and Organisations excercised voting for election of a new Convener. Thus, YK Dhiren was elected as convener of COCOMI -an apex body of different CSOs and Associations in Manipur valley.
After successfully elected as Convener, YK Dhiren said that more than two years and eight months have passed since the start of mayhem between two communities in the state of Manipur on 3rd May, 2023 last. We know very well that the central government is just behind the scene of this war against the ethnic Meitei community of Manipur by illegal immigrants from Myanmar. COCOMI has been working to bring solutions to the current conflict through impartial means, he added.
