Yuvraj Singh Appointed as Batting Coach of Delhi Capitals

Former star all-rounder of the Indian cricket team, Yuvraj Singh, has taken charge as the assistant and batting coach of the Delhi Capitals team for the upcoming IPL 2027 edition. After mentoring several young Indian players over the past few years, this will be his first official coaching assignment.

Through this appointment, Yuvraj has reconnected with the Delhi franchise, a team he had represented after being sold for Rs 16 crore in the 2015 auction. With this appointment, Yuvraj Singh will get the opportunity to work together again with former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who was recently appointed as the head coach of Delhi Capitals.

Welcoming Yuvraj to the team, Delhi franchise chairman Parth Jindal expressed his delight, saying that Yuvraj is one of the best match-winners in Indian cricket and that he has played a significant role in shaping many of the current talented young players.

Yuvraj, who played a crucial role in India winning the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup, brings a wealth of experience to Delhi Capitals. In his career, he played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20 Internationals for India over 17 years. Apart from that, he scored 2,750 runs and took 36 wickets in 132 IPL matches. He set an exemplary example by defeating deadly cancer and returning to the Indian team in 2012.

Speaking about his new role, Yuvraj Singh said – I have an old relationship with this franchise and I know its owners very well, which makes this opportunity very special for me. He also stated that he is eagerly looking forward to working as a coach with Sourav Ganguly.
