CM Khemchand chairs high-level security meeting

Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh chaired a high-level security meeting at the State Secretariat today to review the prevailing law and order situation in the state, hours after the tragic bomb attack that killed two young Meitei children in Tronglaobi Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s firm commitment to restore peace and normalcy remains our top priority assured that necessary measures and operational arrangements have been put in place to ensure public safety and maintain order.
The meeting focused on strengthening security deployments in vulnerable areas, especially along sensitive hill-valley interfaces, and addressing the recent spike in violence. Security forces have been directed to maintain strict vigil and respond swiftly to any attempts to disturb public peace.
This comes amid widespread outrage over last night’s incident in which a 5-year-old boy and his 5–6-month-old sister lost their lives when a projectile struck their home, seriously injuring their mother.
The Chief Minister had earlier visited the injured mother at the hospital, assured all possible medical support, and warned that those responsible for the attack would be identified and dealt with firmly under the law.
The government has appealed for calm and urged all sections of society to cooperate with security forces in restoring normalcy.
