Explosion outside Manipur CLP leader’s residence in Thoubal, no injuries

An explosion occurred near the gate of Manipur Congress Legislature Party leader K Meghachandra Singh’s residence at Yairipok in Manipur’s Thoubal district on Thursday evening.
The explosion took place around 8.15 pm near the wall of Meghachandra’s residence at Yairipok Bishnu Naha in Wangkhem constituency, police said.
The explosive is suspected to have been a grenade, they said.
Meghachandra’s PRO, Ibochouba Thounaojam, said the blast was suspected to have been caused by an explosive thrown by an unidentified person.
There was no report of injuries. It was not clear whether the MLA was at home when the explosion occurred.
The identity of the suspected perpetrator and the motive behind the incident were not yet known. 
All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge of Manipur and MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka has strongly condemn the blast and demanded urgent action. He urged the Central Government to immediately provide him adequate security and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
