Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) is targeting cumulative sales of 1 million connected cars by 2027, up from more than 0.8 million currently, as demand for technology-enabled vehicles continues to rise in India. The company aims to cross the 2 million connected-car milestone by 2030. Hyundai’s Bluelink platform offers more than 70 features, including remote vehicle monitoring, vehicle health diagnostics, location tracking, digital key and emergency assistance. It also supports more than 450 AI-powered voice commands across five languages. Connected-vehicle penetration across Hyundai’s portfolio has increased five-fold since Bluelink was introduced in 2019, rising from 4% then to 20% in 2026. The company attributed the growing adoption to increasing consumer demand for safety, convenience and a better ownership experience. Hyundai has also strengthened its software-defined vehicle capabilities, with its connected car navigation cockpit technology supporting controller over-the-air software updates since 2025. The automaker said its upcoming mass-market electric SUV will offer next-generation connected-car technology as standard across all variants, further integrating electric and connected mobility. Since the launch of Bluelink with the Venue in 2019, Hyundai has expanded connected features through OTA map updates, advanced infotainment, navigation and telematics technologies. The platform has assisted more than 500,000 motorists through SOS and roadside assistance, supported around 15,000 crash-notification interventions and aided vehicle tracing and recovery. HMIL MD and CEO Tarun Garg said the company remains focused on advancing software-defined mobility and expanding connected technologies across its portfolio.
