Two suspected KCP (Noyon) members were taken into custody by Manipur police on Sunday during an intelligence-based operation in the Imphal East District, according to authorities. Two suspects from Loushangkhong Makha Leikai, Shagolshem Lemba Meitei (43), and Shagolshem Romen Meitei (40), were taken into custody at Sawombung Gate, close to the Forest office. During the arrest, police confiscated a car, two cell phones, and two wallets. According to law enforcement officials, the guys were accused of using extortion to raise money for their organization. The arrests are a result of Manipur police’s increased efforts to stop extortion throughout the state, which includes widespread combing and search operations to find anyone engaged in these illegal acts.
