Manipur bids a heartfelt goodbye to the BSF jawan killed in a Pakistani shooting

Senior security and civic authorities, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and other dignitaries lay wreaths and paid tribute to BSF hero Deepak Chingakham on Tuesday. Chingakham was killed in Pakistan’s cross-border shooting in Jammu’s R.S. Pura sector. During the formal homage, the Governor laid a wreath in solemn remembrance of the martyr’s bravery and sacrifice. The ceremony, according to a Raj Bhavan official, represented the state’s great appreciation for Constable Chingakham’s contribution to the country as well as its collective mourning.

To honor the valiant soldier, whose commitment and devotion to the country would be proudly remembered, senior representatives from the Manipur Police, Army, Assam Rifles, Border Security Force (BSF), state administration, and family members were also in attendance. Constable (General Duty) Deepak Chimngakham, 25, of the 7th Battalion, Border Security Force (BSF), was taken to Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal on Tuesday afternoon to be buried.
