BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who was critically injured in cross-border firing by Pakistan along the International Boundary in the R S Pura area of Jammu on May 10, succumbed to his injuries on Sunday May 11.
The Border Security Force confirmed his death on its official social media handle X (formerly Twitter), saying, “DG BSF and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice made by Constable Deepak Chingakham in the line of duty.”
The Prahari Pariwar also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time. The firing occurred amid tensions between India and Pakistan, following India’s launch of ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
