Manipur Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Keisham Meghachandra Singh met senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Monday to brief him on the prevailing crisis in Manipur, including ongoing tensions between the Naga and Kuki communities as well as the conflict between the Kuki-Zo and Meitei groups. During their discussions, both leaders underscored the urgent necessity of establishing a clear, inclusive roadmap for lasting peace, stability, and trust-building across affected communities. Meghachandra expressed deep concern over the lack of a comprehensive roadmap for normalcy and alleged that the state government, led by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, has failed to implement concrete measures to rebuild public trust or alleviate the hardships faced by the region’s people. He further emphasized the severe toll the prolonged crisis has taken on governance, infrastructure, development programs, and the state’s overall economy, while calling for sustained dialogue, confidence-building measures, and proper rehabilitation for those impacted by the violence.
