Manipur CM Meets Amit Shah, Briefs Him on Peace Restoration Efforts; Home Minister to Visit State This Month

Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence in New Delhi on Thursday and briefed him on the steps being taken by the state government to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the Home Minister that the state government has successfully resumed the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati bus service, which has provided significant relief to the public and improved connectivity.

Khemchand Singh also sought the Centre’s continued support in addressing the various challenges facing the state and requested assistance in overcoming ongoing issues.

The Chief Minister reiterated his invitation to Amit Shah to visit Manipur. Accepting the invitation, the Union Home Minister confirmed that he would visit the state later this month.

Shah assured the Chief Minister of the Central Government’s full support in efforts aimed at restoring peace, promoting development and meeting the aspirations of the people of Manipur. He also appreciated the state government’s sustained initiatives to bring back normalcy in the state.
