Manipur CM urges Gadkari to sanction elevated highway project in Imphal

Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh called on Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari at his official residence in New Delhi on Thursday.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister raised various important issues related to the development and road connectivity of the State.
“I urged the Hon’ble Union Minister to sanction the proposed elevated highway project in Imphal city and also requested him to kindly start the construction work of the Shangshak-Tengnoupal Highway at the earliest,” Khemchand said.
“I also requested him to ensure the timely completion of the ongoing works of National Highway-37 and National Highway-2 during this working season, to improve connectivity and ease the hardships faced by the people,” he said.
According to the Chief Minister, Gadkari informed him that the proposed elevated highway project in Imphal is under active consideration of the Ministry.
Gadkari further assured that all projects and issues raised by the State Government will be duly addressed and that his Ministry will extend all possible help for the overall development and enhanced road connectivity of Manipur.
