Manipur Director General of Police, Mukesh Singh visited Noney district Police Headquarters on Tuesday to review the prevailing law and order, crime and operational situation.
The DGP was accompanied by the Additional DG (Law and Order), IG, and other senior officers during the visit.
During the review, the DGP emphasised maintaining law and order, strengthening anti-extortion operations, and ensuring prompt investigation and disposal of pending cases through quality investigation.
He urged officers to remain proactive in curbing extortion activities.
The DGP also visited the CRPF camp at Lamdangmei to assess the security situation in the fringe areas and chaired a coordination meeting with Commanding Officers of the CAPFs deployed in the district.
Special emphasis was laid on ensuring adequate security for the movement of essential commodities along National Highway-37.
Later, the DGP interacted with civil society leaders of Noney, assured full cooperation from the district police, and appealed for continued public support in maintaining law and order and fostering lasting peace.
Meanwhile, security forces and Manipur Police arrested four alleged extortionists, including active cadres of proscribed militant outfits, in separate operations carried out across Imphal West, Jiribam, Bishnupur and Kakching districts over two days, officials said.
