Manipur security forces raid an Imphal West jungle arms stockpile

In the Imphal West district’s deep woods, Manipur security forces conducted a targeted operation and seized a sizable weapons stash. The joint squad, which included Manipur Police Commandos and Indian Army soldiers, received information of illicit weaponry caches in the area and, after searching the Sandum Hill Range near Loitang Khullen hamlet, found the buried armory.

The team discovered two hand-held radio sets, two No. 36 hand grenades, a 9mm pistol, a magazine-loaded self-loading rifle, and freshly disturbed soil while conducting their search. According to authorities, insurgency groups intentionally concealed the weapons for potential future use. The entire stockpile has been turned over to the local police for additional examination and legal action.
