Nadda Given Charge as Central Observer for Assam BJP Legislative Leader Election

Union Minister and BJP leader JP Nadda has been appointed as the Central Observer for the election of the Leader of the Legislative Party in Assam following the NDA’s historic third consecutive term victory. He will be overseeing the formation of the new government alon with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini (Central Co-observer). Party sources said that selection of the legislative party leader is a mere formality as it is almost certain that Himanta Biswa Sarma will be the Chief Minister for a second consecutive term. NDA bagged record 101 of 126 Assembly seats, routing Congress-led Opposition alliance and establishing Himanta Biswa Sarma as one of its most bankable leaders. Out of these 101 seats, the BJP alone won 82 seats.
