NPCI-backed MyUPI adds AI support and safety controls to BHIM’s digital payments ecosystem

NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has introduced MyUPI, a conversational AI-powered assistant on the BHIM Payments App, as part of efforts to strengthen user support, payment safety and management of UPI services.

Launched by NPCI at Global Fintech Fest 2026, MyUPI provides 24/7 assistance in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Bengali, with more regional languages planned. Available under Quick Actions, the service brings transaction support, complaint management, mandate controls and fraud-awareness assistance into a single interface.

Users can view transaction histories across linked bank accounts and UPI apps, raise and track eligible complaints and manage UPI Autopay mandates. Applicable mandates can be paused, resumed or cancelled. MyUPI can also help identify mandate-based debits where no UPI PIN prompt was required.

Its Pay Safe feature allows users to enter a UPI ID or upload a QR code to verify the payee name before payment. Eligible P2P and P2M transactions can be re-initiated, including payments originally made through another UPI app, subject to fresh UPI PIN authentication.

The platform also enables UPI Number de-linking and provides a Safety Switch to block linked bank accounts in cases including suspected compromise, lost phones, unexpected debits or suspicious messages. It also offers information on common UPI fraud methods and scam messages.

NBSL MD and CEO Lalitha Nataraj said MyUPI is intended to strengthen trust and make digital payments more accessible and inclusi.
