Nutritious Diet, Regular Exercise Key to Overall Well-Being

Healthy eating is crucial for disease prevention and overall well-being, according to the WHO. A balanced diet helps combat malnutrition and non-communicable diseases like diabetes and heart disease. The ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition emphasized the need for healthier diets, especially for children, recommending nutritious foods while limiting salt, sugar, and unhealthy fats. Adults should consume at least 400 grams of fruits and vegetables daily and restrict salt intake to under five grams. Combining a healthy diet with physical activity and good hygiene fosters better health and should begin in childhood for a healthier future.
