Three persons, including a policeman, have been arrested in Manipur’s Imphal West district for their alleged involvement in extortion, an official statement said.
The three persons were arrested on Thursday from their respective residences at different localities of Singjamei, it said.
The arrested persons have been identified as Waikhom Amarjit Singh (44), a Havildar in 1st Manipur Rifles, and Okram Priyokumar Singh (40) and Thongram Sunson Singh (34).
One 9mm pistol along with a magazine loaded with four cartridges was seized from the possession of the arrested policeman, it added.
