Naga and Kuki-Zo legislators of Manipur, who serve as members of the constitutionally mandated Hill Areas Committee (HAC), held a joint meeting on Friday using a hybrid format that combined in-person attendance with video conferencing. HAC Chairman Dinganglung Gangmei, who represents the Nungba assembly constituency, expressed satisfaction at bringing the committee members together after a long gap, emphasizing that the meeting provided a valuable opportunity for detailed discussion and reaffirmed the vital importance of collective deliberation and inter-community cooperation in addressing key issues facing the hill areas. While Saitu MLA Haokholet Kipgen joined the proceedings in person alongside Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho and several other legislators, including Khashim Vashum, Leishiyo Keishing, Janghemlung Panmei, Ram Muivah, and Mumo Sha, the remaining Kuki-Zo MLAs—including Ngasanglur Sanate, Chinlungthang, Letzamang Haokip, Letpao Haokip, LM Khaute, and Paolienlal Haokip—participated online to engage in the discussions.
