Security forces arrested two residents of Assam along with suspected contraband items from T. Khullen Naka Post under Senapati police station in Senapati district of Manipur on Monday.
The arrested residents are Nasimuddin (38) of Uriamghat, Devipur; and Monjit (25) of Gomariguri.
According to police, 12 soap cases of suspected brown sugar were seized from their possession: The contraband items were recovered from a Grand I 10 vehicle (AS 01LC9436), which was also seized. Besides, cash amount of Rs 4,000 was also recovered from the arrested persons.
On the other hand, security forces on Monday arrested one Nongmaithem Rupu Singh (38) of Sapam Mamang Leikai in Thoubal district along with suspected contraband items from the Keithelmanbi area under New keithelmabi-PS, Imphal West district.
Five soap cases containing heroin powder, weighing 58 grams, was seized from his possession, along with a Tata Tanker Bullet.
