Virat’s new record, what is that record?

Virat Kohli made a record right from the start of this time’s IPL. IPL has started since Friday. Royal Challengers Bangalore played against Chennai Super Kings in the first match. Virat made a record while playing for RCB. He played in the in the IPL 17 consecutive times for the same team. Virat is the only cricketer who has played 17 consecutive IPL matches for the same team.

IPL has started since 2008. This is the 17th IPL. Virat has been playing for the same team for 16 years. No other cricketer holds this record. Multiple cricketers will play in the IPL this year. But none of them will play in the 17th IPL for the same team. Chennai’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni has played all the IPL matches. But for two years, Chennai was exiled from the IPL. Dhoni played IPL for the Rising Pune Supergiants for those two years.

Rohit Sharma has also played in all IPLs. But he played for the Deccan Chargers (now Sunrisers Hyderabad) for the first two years. Later joined the Mumbai Indians team. Apart from this, Wriddhiman Saha is playing in the 17th IPL. But he played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans. As a result, he did not make a record of 17 consecutive IPL games for the same team.
