Christians in Kangpokpi District observed Good Friday with solemn devotion

Like millions of people throughout the world, Christians in Kangpokpi District observed Good Friday with deep sorrow, prayer, and unwavering faith as they considered the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a cornerstone of the Christian faith. Believers gathered in churches across the region for services from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., wearing black in mourning to represent the hours that Christ is believed to have suffered on the crucifixion. The mood was solemn and reverent, with prayers, scripture readings, and emotional hymns.

Large crowds of worshippers gathered at major churches, such as Kangpokpi Christian Church (KCC), Kuki Baptist Convention (KBC) Center Church, Christian Revival Church (CRC), Kangpokpi Independent Baptist Church (KIBC), and TBA, among others, to remember Christ’s death at Calvary. Church leaders gave sermons that urged repentance, compassion, and unwavering faith while reminding worshippers of the unending love and grace demonstrated through Jesus’ crucifixion.

Good Friday, a public holiday and spiritual reflection day, was observed in Kangpokpi, a region in South Korea. The day led to a solemn silence, symbolizing unity, spiritual resilience, and the enduring light of faith, as it commemorates the resurrection of Christ.
