CM Khemchand Singh Extends Best Wishes to Haj Pilgrims from Manipur

Chief Minister, Manipur Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh today extended his best wishes to the Haj pilgrims from Manipur particularly from the Meitei Pangal Community who departed Imphal for Kolkata for their onward journey to Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

While extending his heartfelt wishes to the pilgrims, Shri Khemchand said “I pray to the Almighty to reach the destination safe and sound and without any infirmity during the journey.” Showing respect and honour to the Haj pilgrims, the Chief Minister urged, “During this difficult time, where unwanted incidents have occurred in Manipur, the pilgrims should offer prayers to the Almighty and seek His blessings in our collective endeavour to establish a peaceful Manipur”.

Shri Yumnam Khemchand made the above statements while seeing-off the Pilgrims from Manipur at the Imphal International airport.

Notably, a total of 379 people have been selected for Haj pilgrimage from the State under Manipur State Haj Committee this year.

It may also be mentioned that 172 pilgrims had already left for Kolkata yesterday and 207 pilgrims will be departing for Kolkata today.The see-off programme organised by the Directorate of Minority Affairs was also attended by Tourism Minister Shri Khuraijam Loken Singh, MLA Shri Kongkham Robindro Singh, MLA Shri Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Ex- MLA Shri Y. Antas Khan, and Director, Imphal International Airport Shri ChipemmiKeishing, among others.
