Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Thursday chaired a high-level Security Coordination Meeting to review the prevailing law and order situation in the state and discuss measures to strengthen security arrangements.
The meeting, held at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal, focused on steps required to maintain peace and order as well as the identification of newly vulnerable areas that may require additional deployment of security personnel.
Officials held detailed discussions on strengthening security measures in sensitive locations to ensure public safety and prevent any disruption to normal life.
With the upcoming working season expected to accelerate infrastructure activities, the meeting also reviewed the progress of projects being undertaken by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) and various contractors. The state government expressed optimism that significant progress in infrastructure development could be achieved over the next six months.
Emphasising the importance of timely completion of highway and infrastructure works, the Chief Minister assured that the government would provide all necessary security support wherever required. Security agencies were instructed to ensure that ongoing development projects are not hindered and that adequate protection is extended to workers and project sites.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur, Director General of Police Mukesh Singh, Home Commissioner N. Ashok Kumar, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) Major General Gaurav Sharma, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) Major General Inderjit Singh Bhinder, Inspector General of CRPF Homkar Amol Vinukant, and senior officials from various security agencies.
