Expanded Veero Range Powers Mahindra’s Small Pickup Growth Ambition

Mahindra & Mahindra is targeting more than 50 per cent market share in India’s small pickup segment in FY27, banking on the expanded Veero range to strengthen its position. The automaker currently holds a 46 per cent year-to-date share through July, compared with 49.1 per cent in FY26. According to Velusamy R, President of Mahindra & Mahindra’s Automotive Business, the newly launched 1.1-tonne CNG Veero is expected to provide further momentum and help the company cross the 50 per cent mark during the current fiscal year. Mahindra has expanded the Veero lineup with the 1.1-tonne XXL CNG variant and upgraded its diesel range. The two CNG variants, V2 and V4, are priced at Rs 8.25 lakh and Rs 8.55 lakh, respectively, while the diesel variants are priced between Rs 8.29 lakh and Rs 9.45 lakh, ex-showroom. The company also plans to launch an electric version of the Veero, with the platform designed to support diesel, CNG and electric powertrains. Mahindra sees significant growth potential for small pickups across sectors such as e-commerce, quick commerce, FMCG, construction and agriculture, as well as replacement demand. The company is also witnessing strong demand for pickup vehicles in both the below-2-tonne and 2-3.5-tonne categories. With the expanded Veero portfolio and upcoming electric variant, Mahindra aims to consolidate its leadership in the small pickup market and increase its share beyond 50 per cent in FY27.
