Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) continues its upward trajectory in the Indian automotive market, reporting a solid 7 percent year-on-year growth for May 2026. The automaker clocked total sales of 33,128 units during the month, up from the 30,864 units recorded in May 2025. This steady growth reflects sustained consumer demand and strong market sentiment for the brand’s diverse vehicle lineup.
The growth was visible across both domestic and international fronts. In the domestic market, TKM dispatched 30,574 units to Indian dealerships, securing a 4 percent increase compared to the 29,280 units sold in the same month last year. Meanwhile, the company’s export performance witnessed a massive surge. Overseas shipments grew by an impressive 61 percent, with 2,554 units exported in May 2026 against 1,584 units in May 2025.
Beyond the numbers, May marked a monumental milestone for Toyota’s green mobility journey in India. The company officially crossed the 3-lakh cumulative sales mark for its Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles (SHEVs). Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President of TKM, noted that this achievement underscores the rapidly growing consumer acceptance of cleaner, sustainable technologies.
Manohar reiterated Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to sustainable mobility, emphasizing the company’s commitment to aligned innovations that deliver long-term value. As Toyota continues to evolve its product portfolio to match shifting consumer preferences, this performance reinforces its pivotal role in driving India towards carbon neutrality.
