Bypassing even the tight security at the border, a youth from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir entered Indian territory just to meet his girlfriend. The youth, who crossed the Line of Control in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, has now been detained by a team of the Indian Army. Along with him, security forces have also taken his local girlfriend into custody.
According to reports, on Saturday night, a patrol team in the Uri sector noticed suspicious movement near the border fencing. Security personnel immediately cordoned off the entire area and apprehended the youth who had infiltrated. During initial questioning, the youth confessed that he had not come with any subversive intent, but solely to meet his girlfriend residing on this side of the border.
It has been learned that the two had been in a romantic relationship for a long time and both families were aware of it. Acting on communication with his girlfriend, the youth took the risky decision to cross the border in this manner. Currently, the Army and local police are jointly interrogating him to verify the truth of his statement.
According to police authorities, the matter is being taken with utmost seriousness given the sensitivity of border security and national security. A search is being conducted to determine whether any suspicious materials have been recovered from the youth. The administration has stated that further action will be taken only after the legal process is completed.
