An Inter-Club Athletics Competition has been organized under the initiative of the Nalbari Sports Association on June 7, starting from 8:00 AM at the Sarihahatoli Sports Complex. Kalyan Barman, the Athletics Secretary of the Nalbari Sports Association, has informed that athletes from clubs and associations recognized permanently or temporarily by the Nalbari Sports Association will be eligible to participate in the competition. Meanwhile, Ashok Bharali, the Vice President of the Assam Athletics Association, has been appointed as the observer for the said event.
It is learnt that the competition will feature almost all major events, including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m races, as well as high jump, long jump, shot put, and discus throw. Boys and girls under the age categories of 14, 16, 18, and 20 years will be able to participate in this competition. It is worth mentioning that athletes who deliver a strong performance in this competition will get the opportunity to represent the Nalbari district in the upcoming 42nd Inter-District Athletics Competition, which is scheduled to be held in July at the Sarihahatoli Sports Complex in Nalbari under the initiative of the Assam Athletics Association.
