A man from West Bengal who was allegedly abducted after he arrived at Imphal airport escaped from his abductors at Naranseina by pulling the handbrake of the vehicle.
Manipur police said that Md. Wasim Akram was later rescued by the personnel of Moirang Police Station after he approached them for help.
“Upon his arrival at Imphal airport on September 19, Akram was abducted in a Bolero car bearing registration number AS02A B9720. He, however, somehow managed to escape from his abductors by pulling the handbrake of the car,” a police officer said.
The driver of the Bolero ,Makakmayum Imtiyazur Rahaman (24) of Wangoi Mamang Leikai has been arrested and further investigation is on to track and arrest the remaining suspects, the officer said.
