Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh today met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and discussed the progress of key national highway projects in the state, including the Imphal-Jiribam and Imphal-Dimapur roads, according to an official statement.
“Called on Nitin Gadkari Ji and apprised him of the steps taken by the Government of Manipur to resolve long-pending issues concerning the Imphal–Jiribam and Imphal–Dimapur National Highways,” said Singh.
“I requested him to accord early sanction to the proposed Elevated Highway Project. Gadkari Ji responded positively and assured his support for strengthening Manipur’s road infrastructure,” he added.
The meeting took place at Gadkari’s official residence.
