Manipur Minister Condemns Kangpokpi Attack, Assures Justice and Aid to Victims

Manipur Minister Y. Khemchand Singh strongly condemned the brutal terror attack carried out by armed miscreants on a group of civilians between Kotlen and Kotzim areas in Kangpokpi district on Wednesday morning. The incident claimed the lives of three innocent civilians and left four others injured.

Of the injured victims, three were rushed to Shija Hospitals and Research Institute in Imphal for treatment. Singh, along with Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, MLAs and senior officials, visited the hospital to enquire about their condition.

The minister said the Manipur government will bear all medical expenses of the injured and has directed authorities to ensure the best possible treatment.

Calling the violence deeply disturbing, Singh said such acts threaten the state’s gradual return to peace and normalcy. He stressed that terrorism and violence against innocent civilians have no place in a civilized society.

Appealing for calm, he urged all communities to maintain peace, avoid emotional reactions, and immediately stop abductions, hostage-taking, and intimidation on communal lines. He assured that the state government would use all available resources to bring those responsible to justice.

Singh also expressed grief over the loss of lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
