SBI Life Insurance has expanded its association with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), becoming the Principal Partner of the Indian contingent for the 2026 para sports season, a move that reinforces the insurer’s brand-building strategy through sports sponsorships and social impact initiatives.
The company will also serve as the Official Life Insurance Partner of the Indian Paralympic contingent for the Commonwealth Para Games 2026 in Glasgow and the Asian Para Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The partnership builds on SBI Life’s association with India’s para-athletes during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, where the country registered a record 29-medal haul.
SBI Life said the collaboration reflects its commitment to supporting India’s elite para-athletes while promoting confidence, preparation and resilience. Chief of Brand, Corporate Communication and CSR Ravindra Sharma said the initiative aligns with the company’s “ApneLiye, ApnoKeLiye” philosophy, highlighting the importance of providing individuals and families with the confidence to pursue their aspirations while remaining prepared for the future.
PCI President DevendraJhajharia welcomed the strengthened partnership, stating that continued corporate backing would help athletes focus on achieving excellence at the upcoming international competitions.
The partnership is viewed as a strategic brand investment for SBI Life, reflecting the growing trend among financial services companies to leverage sports sponsorships for stronger customer engagement and brand differentiation. Analysts believe such purpose-driven collaborations enhance corporate reputation, improve stakeholder trust and reinforce long-term brand equity while supporting the expanding ecosystem of para sports in India.
