Villagers of Tangkhul Thawai (Thoyee) Village and the leaders of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) have strongly condemned the gun attack by Kuki Militants to the village on Easter Sunday, questioning the Security Forces’ inaction with the situation.
The villagers and the Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long, strongly condemned the alleged attack by suspected Kuki militants on Thawai and Sharkaphung villages on that very sacred day.The attack occurred between 7.pm and 10.30 pm of the fateful day. It resulted to a great damage to at least six residential homes, said a statement issued by the TNL.
The villagers of the Thawai area and the volunteers of the TNL expressed dissatisfaction with the Security Forces, posted there, for remaining quite passive during the attack.The press statement further stated that the attack, allegedly conducted by Kuki Militants from the Shangkai and Zalengbung areas, using sophisticated weapons, followed an advance Operation by Central Forces at the area, just a day earlier.
The villagers expressed grave concern about the effectiveness and intent of such Operations, and demanded clarification about the security personnel’s inaction during the attact.
TNL Leaders Question SF’s Inaction
