Two persons were killed and two others sustained injuries in an incident reported from Kalengjang in Kangpokpi Tehsil under Manipur’s Senapati district on Saturday.
According to reports, the deceased have been identified as Rocky Mao of Chowainamei village and Kumar Poumai of Laii Shirafii. Both victims reportedly died on the spot. The exact time of the incident was not immediately known.
The injured were identified as Ashiho Sani, 49, a resident of Shajouba, and Adani Manio, 33, from Makhel. Both belong to the Mao Naga community.
The injured were rushed to GetWell Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the District Hospital in Senapati for post-mortem and other legal formalities.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the circumstances that led to the incident. The nature of the injuries and the sequence of events could not be independently verified at the time of filing this report.
