Assam’s daughter Avantika Das has brought laurels to the country as well as the people of the state by winning two silver medals at the Oceania International Invitational Wushu Kung-Fu Championship 2026, held at the Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler, Queensland, Australia. Representing the Indian Wushu team in the international invitational competition held from May 21 to May 25, Avantika won the two silver medals in the ‘Traditional Nanquan Type Event’ and the ‘Traditional Single Weapon Event’ respectively. For Avantika’s achievement, Muralidhar Choudhury, President of the Assam Wushu Association, and Ranjit Boro, General Secretary, have extended their congratulations to her.
