Internet service providers (ISPs) have been grappling with problems brought on by the Aizawl Smart City project cutting their lines, which has created internet outages for residents of Aizawl, Mizoram. The Aizawl Smart City project has caused problems for ISPs such as Jio, Airtel, Netsurf, and others by imposing deadlines on them over the course of several months to move their connections to the Power and Electricity Department’s recently built Multi-Utility Points.
They would fix every line in a week, according to Manowar Hussain, Assistant Manager of Jio Network and Operations SHQ, Guwahati. According to Aizawl Smart City officials, they have met with ISPs multiple times and have given them enough time to move their lines to the Multi-Utility Poles. They went on to say that although it is not in their best interests to cause disturbances for the public, they are asking people to tolerate the disruptions since they must obey the directives.
