KOHUR Seeks Mha Intervention Over Alleged Mullam Attack

The Kuki Organisation for Human Rights (KOHUR) has claimed that militants belonging to Tangkhul Naga community, yesterday, attacked Mullam Kuki village, set houses ablaze, injured several villagers including women and children.
Two Kuki village volunteers on duty were also shot dead by the Naga attackers, said a statement issued by KOHUR. It further said that Mullam villagers defended themselves using licensed hunting arms and killed one of the assailants. The incident is not an isolated occurrence but part of a continuing pattern of agression against the Kuki-Zo communities, the statement stated.
It described the alleged attack as a serious and grave violation of the right of life,the right to dwell in peace,and fundamental human rights, as guaranteed under the Constitution of India and international human rights law.
It has demanded the immediate registration of an FIR and a transparent, time-bound investigation into the incident. It urged Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), to identify,arrest and prosecute all perpetrators, conspirators and financiers of what it terms a “heinous crime” under applicable criminal and anti-terror laws of the country.
