Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam Condemns Attack on Naga Civilians, Assures Action

Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam has strongly condemned the reported attack on Naga civilians along the IT Road in Kangpokpi district, expressing deep anguish over the loss of lives and injury caused in the incident.

Konthoujam conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured person. He said the violence had caused deep distress among the Naga community and peace-loving people across Manipur.

The Home Minister said such incidents undermine efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the state. He assured that those responsible for the attack would face the full force of the law and warned that anyone attempting to obstruct or derail the peace process would not be spared.

Appealing for calm, Konthoujam urged community leaders, civil society organisations and members of the Naga community to maintain peace and exercise restraint.

He stressed that justice would be pursued firmly, while peace and unity must remain the priority. He also expressed his respects to those who lost their lives and prayed that their souls rest in eternal peace.
