A militant belonging to proscribed outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) was arrested in Manipur’s Imphal West district, police said on Monday.
The insurgent, identified as 29-year-old Leihaothabam Nanao Sharma, was involved in extorting government employees, shopkeepers and the common public in the Greater Imphal area, a police officer said. He was nabbed from Lamphel supermarket on Sunday, the officer added.
