Manipur Police seize suspected illegal fuel consignments headed for Moreh, five drivers arrested

Manipur Police has seized several vehicles allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of petroleum and diesel products towards the border town of Moreh during separate operations carried out over the last two days. Officials said the operations were conducted on April 30 and May 1 as part of intensified checking and monitoring activities on routes leading towards the international border town.

During one of the operations conducted on May 1, police intercepted a Bolero pick-up truck that was allegedly carrying fuel products in multiple containers. According to officials, the vehicle was stopped during routine checking operations while it was reportedly heading towards Moreh. Upon inspection, police found eleven containers filled with suspected petroleum or diesel products inside the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Md. Hashan, a 51-year-old resident of Sora Maning Leikai in Kakching district. He was taken into custody in connection with the case.
