Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has reviewed the functioning of the state’s Fisheries Department, with a focus on increasing fish production, strengthening infrastructure and improving welfare measures for fishing communities.
The review meeting, held at the State Secretariat, was attended by senior officials of the Fisheries Department. The discussions centred on the progress of ongoing schemes, inland fisheries management, fish production targets and measures to improve the overall performance of the sector.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the implementation of various government initiatives aimed at enhancing fish production across the state. He also reviewed programmes designed to improve the livelihoods of fishermen and ensure that welfare benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.
