Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh today attended the Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) organised by the District Administration, Imphal West at Chingamathak Young Learners’ Club, Hao Ground, Chingamathak (Pishum Lampak) in Imphal.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Khemchand Singh stated that the camp is being organised to ensure the doorstep delivery of various government welfare schemes and services to the people of the State effectively.
While lauding the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and becoming the longest-serving elected Prime Minister of India, the Chief Minister stated that the camp forms part of the broader effort to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat–Viksit Manipur 2047.
Regarding the ongoing railway projects in the State, Shri Khemchand Singh informed that the railway line has already reached Khongsang and is expected to extend to Imphal within the next two years. He further informed that the rail network is planned to be extended up to Moreh.
He further mentioned that the erstwhile look east policy now transformed into act east policy will serve as a gateway to the South East Asia. This policy will further create new opportunities for the future generations of the State.
Stressing that there will be no development in the State without creating a peaceful environment, Shri Khemchand Singh urged that all the communities residing in the state must keep the differences aside and look forward to dialogue for bringing peace. He appealed the people of the State to extend their full cooperation to the Government’s ongoing efforts to restore and maintain peace.
During the programme the Chief Minister handed over allowances provided by the Education (s) Imphal West to the two children under “children with special need”, and 4 packets of nutritious food which contains dal and eggs etc to the 4 people suffering from tuberculosis.
The Chief Minister also visited the stalls set up by the various State government departments highlighting the various beneficiary schemes in connection with the camp.
The camp organised was attended by Deputy Commissioner (Imphal West), Director of Planning, Mayor (Imphal Municipal Corporation) and staffs of various government departments of Manipur among others.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the 7th Governor’s Art Award ceremony held at the Cabinet Hall, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Mantripukhri, Imphal. On the occasion, renowned artist Shri Yendrembam Ibochouba Singh was honoured with the award in recognition of his exceptional contributions in the field of fine arts.
