Manipur Deputy CM appeals for peace during major aid distribution in Kangpokpi

Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen has appealed to people across communities to maintain peace and harmony while addressing a major aid distribution programme organised by the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) in Kangpokpi district. The programme marked one of the council’s biggest public welfare distribution drives in recent years and the first large-scale initiative of its kind after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted several developmental and administrative activities in the district.During the event, various materials meant for schools, farmers and youth groups were distributed to beneficiaries from different areas. The items included school furniture, stationery materials, sports equipment, agricultural tools, seeds, fertilisers and sprayer pumps aimed at supporting both the education and agriculture sectors in the hill district.

Addressing the gathering, Kipgen said the government was focusing on taking welfare schemes and development activities to remote and underserved areas.
