Fresh violence was reported from the border areas of Kamjong district in the early hours of Wednesday after suspected militants allegedly launched coordinated attacks on villages located near the Myanmar border. According to sources, the attacks took place around 2 am at Namlee Market and Choro village in Kamjong district. The assault is suspected to have been carried out by the KNA-B using drones, raising fresh concerns over the use of advanced tactics in the conflict-hit hill regions of Manipur.
Sources said several houses were set on fire during the attack. However, no casualties had been officially confirmed at the time of filing this report. Security agencies are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, while details regarding the extent of damage and the identities of those involved are still awaited. The latest incident comes amid continuing tensions in Manipur’s sensitive border districts, where sporadic attacks and armed clashes have repeatedly been reported over the past several months.
