Naga Community Has No Hand In The Molnoi Attack: NVG

The Naga Village Guard (NVG), Eastern Command, has strongly denied the social media allegations that the Tangkhul Nagas have involved in the reported attack at Molnoi Kuki village on May 12.
A press statement issued by NVG , dated May 12, stated that it outrightly denies the allegation levelled against the Tangkhul Nagas over the reported attack on Molnoi, a Kuki village inside the territory of the neighbouring Myanmar, on May 12.
The unfounded and unacceptable allegations have been circulated on social media platforms by certain Kuki individuals, the statement stated.
The NVG declared that the Tangkhul Naga community has no hand in the reported incident, which has been embroiled in internal unrest for the past few years. The NVG further stated that the Naga volunteers are always committed to protecting and defending the community’s own land and people, and the Tangkhul Nagas have never meddled with the internal affairs of the neighbouring country of Myanmar.
Also it added, “The incident that occurred on Tuesday at Molnoi, which is located in Myanmar, approximately 2km from the Border Pillar No. 113 in Kamjong district, could be their own handiwork and an attempt to blame the Tangkhul Naga community to plot another alibi to attack the innocent Naga border villagers.” The NVG further expressed that Molnoi is reported to be the hub of the Kuki National Army -Burma (KNA-B), a constituent armed-body of People Defence Force (PDF), which has been waging war against the Military Junta in Myanmar. The attack on Kuki village Molnoi could have been a repercussion of the internal unrest that is prevailing in Myanmar, the NVG added.
Here, it may be mentioned that the Manipur Police had also clarified on May 12 that the reported burning of houses in Molnoi Kuki village, at around 3:pm, was in Myanmar and not related to India.
